Fatehabad. Last night, Hisar-Ghaggar drain broke near village Jandwala Bagar of Bhattu area.
A crack of about 40 feet appeared in the drain, which was filled by this morning after about 12 hours of hard work.
Last night, a crack appeared in the Hisar Ghaggar Multipurpose Drain in the fields of Chaharwala of Sirsa district and Jandwala of Fatehabad. The villagers immediately made an announcement as soon as they saw the crack. On which the villagers and the sevadars of Dera Sacha Sauda remained busy in repairing the drain throughout the night.
Now the villagers are busy in strengthening it further. Due to the fast flowing water, about 800 acres of crops of the nearby farmers have been submerged.
On receiving the information about the drain breaking, SDM Rajesh Kumar, Irrigation Department's XEN NK Bhola and other officials reached the spot at night. After this, JCB and Poklane machines were provided.
Sarpanch Surendra Kumar of Jandwala said that now in the morning, by making an announcement in the village, the villagers have been requested to reach the drain, so that the drain can be strengthened further. Now after more villagers come, they will gather to strengthen it so that it does not break again in future.
The villagers allege that despite repeated warnings to the district administration, Hisar Ghaggar drain was not strengthened. Due to which this drain has broken for the second time in Bhattu area. Earlier, the drain had broken near village Ramsara. It is also called Sem Nala in the local language, which is from Hansi to Sirsa district.
